Families can drift apart, Abraham. They can come back togather again too. Been there. You can lose people you love and survive. You can even find yourself being surprisingly happy after a while. There is no blame on any one person and particularly don't blame yourself. 3 C's work well here too. So does the 4th. You know where to keep the focus.
